Street Outreach

The Street Outreach program has been making connections with homeless, runaway and vulnerable youth, and helping them access to Shelter and Drop-In Center, as well as healthcare, substance abuse and mental health counseling, educational support, and case management.

LifeLine street outreach go out onto the streets to connect with youth, build trusting relationships with them, and provide basic needs like food, water, hygiene products, and cold weather gear, as well as information about local resources such as the Drop-In Center and Clinic.

The Outreach program also provides counseling, testing and referral for youth who are concerned about exposure to HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.

Our street team is regularly accompanied by a Medical Assistant. This partnership has increased awareness of the youth clinic connected to our building and given youth on the street the opportunity to get advice from a medical professional.

Last year, we made more than 100 on-street contacts, and distributed 180 seasonal, health and hygiene items.
